Mike Kelly - Square Dance Caller

Mike Kelly started maybe started dancing in 1962 at the age of eight; in 1964 he joined the Flying Saucers youth round and square dance exhibition club. That same year he took up calling. During his teenage years, Mike called for four youth square dance clubs and two adult square dance clubs in the Kansas City Metro area.

After graduation from high school, Mike left the Kansas City area for a thirteen year tour as on Officer in the US Navy. During that stay in the Navy, he was able to continue his calling career, calling in several foreign countries.

Mike studied his craft under many great callers including Frank Lane and Jon Jones, both famous international callers. Mike is currently calling full time and traveling all over the United States calling and making a lot of new Friends. He has been a member of CallerLab since 1974.

Mike also has a home program as well. with two Mainstream clubs, a Plus club, and an Advance club. He teaches at least two Mainstream, one Plus, and one Advance classes a year.

Mike is now calling at Lakewood in the Rio Grande Valley during the winter .
